Golfing in Columbia & Montour Counties
Our counties offer challenges and golfing enjoyment for golfers of all levels. There are five public courses and two private courses throughout Columbia & Montour counties with many others in nearby neighboring counties. Visitors can also find a specialty golf center, driving ranges, and miniature golf within the county borders. Several area courses offer championship-style layouts, and all boast a picturesque and memorable day on the links. Rolling hills, tree-lined fairways, sand traps, and natural water hazards will both challenge and mesmerize golfers. Professionally manicured fairways, tee boxes, and pristine greens will allow for ideal playing conditions. Whether you favor cool spring mornings, the dog days of summer, or the colorful majesty of autumn, be sure to spend it on one of our area courses this year – you’ll be glad you did!
- COVID-19 Update -
As of Friday, May 1, golf courses in Pennsylvania are permitted to reopen. Most or all of our area courses will open on this date or shortly thereafter. All courses will be following standardized statewide measures that have been put in place by the Pennsylvania Alliance for Golf. Please note that there may also be additional restrictions put in place by local course management. If you do make plans to hit the links in the coming weeks, please remember to maintain proper social distancing and follow all temporary course restricstions/rules set in place by course management. Per state guidelines, among other restrictions, rakes will be removed from bunkers (golfers should smooth the sand with their club or shoe), flag pins are not to be touched, tee times will be scheduled no closer than 15 minutes apart, there will be no shared equipment, and no ball washers are to be used.
Featured Area Courses
Nestled at the base of a pine and hardwood covered hillside, Knoebels Three Ponds Golf Club boasts 4 sets of tees appealing to players of all ability. The semi-private club is a regulation 18 hole par 71 golf course and rated 70.1 from the blue tees with a slope of 127.
There are 37 strategically placed bunkers throughout the course to add to the golfer's challenge. Water features include a total of 14 ponds with an active creek running throughout the back nine. For added golfer appeal, numerous perennial gardens and fescue areas are sprinkled throughout the course. For every golfer to warm up or hone their skills, a practice putting/chipping green is located beside the clubhouse.
Our Nickle Plate Bar & Grill features a wide variety of assorted sandwiches, hot meals, and beverages. Our clubhouse can accommodate group outings & tournaments for up to 125 people. Additional tented areas are available for larger groups. Stop by our Pro Shop, where you’ll find the latest and greatest in equipment and merchandise to fulfill your style needs.
