By William Shakespeare
Directed by Tara Bradway

September 7th – October 1st, 2023*

BTE ventures from our home on Center Street to bring this laugh-out-loud comedy to a park, school, or Theatre near you! A rollicking plot of overlapping love triangles, mistaken identities, and musical merry pranksters are all brought to you in Shakespeare’s rich language. Don’t miss this classic favorite told for today’s audiences!

Shipwrecked Viola washes up on the shores of Illyria, mourning her twin brother, Sebastian, whom she thinks has died in the wreckage. Viola disguises herself in his clothes and joins the service of the Duke, Orsino. The Duke is infatuated with Countess Olivia, who continues to reject his advances, so he sends Viola (in the guise of Cesario) to woo Olivia. Olivia ends up falling for Viola in disguise! When attraction blooms between Viola and Orsino, and Viola’s brother Sebastian (who is not dead) appears, chaos ensues, leading to mistaken identities, accidental duels, and hilarious revelations!
