Susquehanna Valley Watershed Festival

July 30 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

The Susquehanna Valley Watershed Festival is being held to celebrate the area’s wonderful natural resources – including our streams, forests, soils, wildlife, and PEOPLE!  Columbia County’s four watershed associations are working hard to protect our regions waters which drain into the Susquehanna River and ultimately the Chesapeake Bay.

Highlights include: tie-dye shirts with acid mine drainage, water cycle bracelets, a duck drop and ring toss with prizes, macroinvertebrate sampling, a fly tying class, free plant giveaway, and silent auction.

Live bluegrass & folk music all day from Don Shappelle and the Pickups and The Breaker Boys.

Ongoing activities include: vendors and displays from Pennsylvania’s Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, Department of Environmental Protection, Fish and Boat Commission, USDA – NRCS, Columbia County Conservation District, PPL, Pennsylvania Organization for Watersheds and Rivers, Penn State Extension Master Gardeners, Catawissa Water Authority and many more!

Bring the family for the events and enjoy food from Jackie’s French Fries, Franco’s Pizza, Just Desserts aka Sweet Pickins, and the Catawissa Lions Club!

The Festival is sure to be a ‘DO NOT MISS’ event!  Once again, admission and parking are free!  Questions can be directed to Abby Sieg or Aaron Eldred at the Columbia County Conservation District – (570) 317-9456.
