Second Saturday Gardening Series: Noxious vs. Native Weeds

March 9 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 pm

$10.00

Join Colleen Epler-Ruths, a Penn State Extension Master Gardener, for a discussion on the distinction between noxious and native weeds and why it is crucial to understand their ecological significance and impact. This knowledge aids in informed decision-making for ecosystem management and preservation. Noxious weeds, as invasive species, disrupt natural processes, leading to diminished biodiversity by outcompeting native plants and negatively impacting agriculture and local wildlife. You will learn the distinction between noxious and native weeds, why native weeds are integral to specific ecosystems, and the importance of understanding and managing the distinctions for environmental health and future sustainability.  For more information: https://extension.psu.edu/second-saturday-gardening-series-noxious-vs-native-weeds
