Hess Recreation Area Hike

Join Van Wagner and Bob Stoudt for a relatively easy, family-friendly hike along the Mahoning Flats Trail System at the Hess Recreation Area.
We’ll explore the streamside forests along Mahoning Creek and look for waterfowl and early signs of spring around the wetlands. We may even find some interesting relics along the trails.
Participants should expect a 1.5 to 2-mile hike along generally flat trails, but are cautioned to expect wet, muddy conditions in places. Please wear water-resistant footwear that you don’t mind getting muddy.
Well-behaved, leashed dogs are welcome.
Binoculars may be helpful.
