Bloomsburg’s Haunted Library | October 24-26

BLOOMSBURG – Everyone is invited to the first annual Haunted Library, a new literary haunted house experience in partnership between the Bloomsburg Public Library, Columbia County Traveling Library, and Orangeville Public Library, on October 24, 25, and 26! This special scare-fest features iconic library monsters and ghosts, transforming the Bloomsburg Public Library into an alternate version of itself with frightening lights, fearsome shadows, and bone-chilling fog.

The reclusive Night Librarians will lead the approximately 20-minute guided tours. Food, drink, merchandise, and books will be available for purchase before and after each tour. A raffle table will feature Halloween-themed prizes. Haunted Library tickets are $10 and can be purchased online at tinyurl.com/haunted-library or in person at the Bloomsburg Library, Columbia County Traveling Library, or Orangeville Public Library.

The Haunted Library will feature ghostly characters and monsters from the literary worlds in the books on our shelves who wander throughout the century-old building. These characters will be brought to life via practical and special effects from Millville resident, Connor Henry, as well as Emily Brannon and the talented folks at Dark Mind Experiences, guaranteeing screams from terrified visitors! Less frightening tours more suited for preteens and the faint of heart will be held between 7pm and 8pm, on all three nights. At 8:00, the fear factor escalates! The Haunted Library will not include extreme gore, violence, or occult themes.

Fog and brief lightning effects and flashes will be present; guest discretion is advised. Tickets are for specific time slots on October 24, 25, and 26 from 7-9:30pm. Guests are highly encouraged to be on time, as late arrivals may miss their tour. The Haunted Library will make use of all three floors and is wheelchair-accessible!
The Haunted Library is a joint fundraising event brought to you by the Bloomsburg Public Library, Columbia County Traveling Library, and Orangeville Public Library. Funds raised help put books on the shelves, and allow the libraries to offer free programs and services for everyone in Columbia County.

The Bloomsburg Public Library, Columbia County Traveling Library, and Orangeville Public Library work together in partnership to provide shared access to books and resources for residents across Columbia County, Pennsylvania.
