We host this special event the first Saturday of the month, December through March! Storytime starts at 11:00 am and lasts about 30 minutes. Each story features an animal or two that we have at the zoo; afterward, we’ll have an animal encounter, touch opportunity, or other hands-on experience for you to enjoy as well as a fun activity to take home!
SPIKE, THE MIXED-UP MONSTER BY SUSAN HOOD
Spike is a scary-looking salamander who keeps trying to frighten other animals – until he finds that using fear is not the best way to make friends. Learn about the real-life salamander, the axolotl, and a little bit of Spanish from Spike’s home country, Mexico.
