Guests enjoy inside access to a farm that specializes in very rare heritage animals and heirloom veggies, including one of the few organic heritage fainting goat herds in the country and the only Malabar Jilfan Arabian horses in the world. Your guide is author Carrie Eastman (publisher Acres USA). Your picnic day begins with an orientation and release form. We then take you on a 45 minute farm tour to meet the horses, donkey, goats and poultry. You will get to pet the animals and feed them treats, as well as visit the gardens and learn about wildlife projects on our farm. After the tour we set you up for your picnic at the fire pit at noon (we provide wood and grill top. Please bring your own food/supplies) with a view of the fishing pond, gardens and fields. While you relax with your meal, you can fish the pond (bass and bluegill, catch and release only). You have from noon to 5pm to enjoy your meal and the view. There is an outhouse (sanitizer provided) but no running water for cleanup. Please make sure to select the “Private” option when booking for social distancing safety. No pets. We ask for advanced notice of service animals.
