Meet the last Malabar Jilfan Arabian horses and our rescue herd. We are the only Malabar Jilfan farm and the only Malabar farm open to the public. Only 200 Malabars and a few Jilfan exist globally. We have been offering this experience since 2017 with 200+ outstanding reviews. Upon arrival at the barn, expect a friendly greeting from Runa, our livestock guard dog. (Runa keeps stray dogs and predators away from the farm, so please tell us if you are bringing a service animal. No pets.) Your experience happens in the barn (expect outdoor temperatures, manure, mud, bugs, and wildlife) We begin with a release form, short safety orientation and bathroom break (outhouse). We then tell the Malabar and Jilfan stories and talk about rare breed preservation, and our history with horses. After that you meet each horse and experience their unique personalities. We provide treats for you to share with them. The horses enjoy interacting with visitors, inviting petting and selfies or playing, and their calmness is contagious. You may sit and share their peace, or actively engage with them. We hope you leave with an appreciation for rare breed preservation and recognition of their intelligence and individuality. Other dates/times available, please ask. All attendees must RSVP online.
