Forks Farm Market

We take our role in protecting customers while providing good healthy food as an essential business very seriously and have been working to adjust our normal market practices to do so. We have consulted with the Columbia County Health Department, Penn State Extension, and the CDC and PA guidelines and are taking important steps to provide you with our producers good food while practicing social distancing during the Covid-19 crisis. Please read our information below to help us.

10AM-11AM- Those with a last name starting with a letter M-Z: This is to help reduce the number of customers in attendance at one time and assist vendors with pulling pre-orders.
11AM-12PM- Those with a last name starting with a letter A-L: This is to help reduce the number of customers in attendance at one time and assist vendors with pulling pre-orders
12PM-1PM-.Reserved for the most vulnerable members of our community: those 60 and over and those with pre-existing medical conditions. This is an honor system

Safety Steps We are Taking
We are spreading the market out so there will be more than 6 feet between each vendor. We are also moving some of the producers to keep lines from getting too close to one another.
Most of our producers are taking preorders so you can limit your time at the market. Please check our website for a list of vendors you can use to contact them to place a preorder.
We will have 2 hand washing stations at the market complete with soap, water, paper towels, sanitizing wipes and tissues.
All tables will be sanitized prior to the start of the market.
Our producers are food professionals and they will practice approved food safety measures. They’ll be washing their hands frequently and wearing disposable gloves where appropriate.
When possible, our producers will not require signatures for credit card payments.

Safety Steps We Encourage You to Take
Please keep 6 feet between yourself and other shoppers and producers.
Please consider sending 1 family member to the market to reduce the total number of shoppers.
At this time, we are asking shoppers to leave their dogs at home if they can.
We ask that any shoppers who feel sick or are sneezing and coughing to stay home. Maybe a neighbor or friend can be your personal shopper.
If you have been to a Level 3 country or New York City in the last 14 days please stay home to protect others.
Wear face masks/coverings. The CDC suggested that having the entire population wear face masks could prevent Covid-19 spread. Our producers will wear face coverings to do our part. We encourage all of you to do the same. It can be as simple as a bandana or scarf over your nose and mouth.
Finally, we know that the market is a wonderful gathering place for friends and family and we ourselves often great one another with hugs. This week, we will all adopt the thumbs up as our greeting to say thumbs up for community, local farms and local food!

This is indeed a very trying time as we all make changes in our lives to protect ourselves and our entire community from Covid-19. If you’re unable to attend that day please feel free to reach out to us for a no contact preorder pick up at another time or market your calendar for our next market!
