These large members of the weasel family were part of Pennsylvania’s fauna until the forests were cleared in the early 1900s and they lost their habitat. In the 1990s, fishers were reintroduced into specific sites in our state. Today, fisher populations are well established in areas of Pennsylvania and their population is increasing. Join us to learn about the history and natural history of fishers. You’ll learn how these secretive mammals make their living, where they tend to live and more about the reintroduction effort that helped bring them back.
