Bloomsburg Singers present their third annual fall concert on Saturday, October 7 at 6 PM at Wesley Church in Bloomsburg. This fast-growing choral organization has received tremendous acclaim from throughout our region and beyond, including ovations from musical authorities in the New York City and Boston metropolitan areas: “spirited and refined”…”fresh and vital”…”profoundly touching”…”awe-inspiring”…”a tremendous asset to the region” — these are a few of the many accolades pouring in for Bloomsburg Singers. This concert will feature an eclectic and delightful program of choral and solo vocal music on the themes of autumn and evening, representing the cumulative efforts of 46 talented singers, under the direction of Cody Mead. With such a diverse array of music, including excerpts from operatic works by Mendelssohn and Humperdinck, contemporary choral arrangements of Shakespeare and Frost, haunting motets by Johannes Brahms, excerpts of the holocaust-poem-inspired “I Never Saw Another Butterfly,” and cherished favorites by Simon and Garfunkel, Stephen Sondheim, Eva Cassidy, and Vernon Duke — this will be a musical event that truly everybody can enjoy!
