Take a scenic guided trail ride (walk only) around the preservation farm on gorgeous purebred horses. For our conscious horsemanship rides, the horses choose their riders.
After arriving at the barn, guests sign a release form, get a bathroom break (outhouse), and then are introduced to the herd. After your introduction there is a brief safety orientation.
Guests are then matched with their horse, and will ride with supervision in the enclosed riding area until horse, rider and trail guide are all confident the guest can safely control the horse on the trails (5 to 20 minutes). Once the group has completed the supervised riding refresher, we head out on the trail.
You will enjoy spectacular views, a shady fern grove in the pines, and the company of horses who consider people to be companions rather than simply riders.
After riding the trails for up to 45 minutes (trail time depends on refresher time in the riding pen), guests and horses return to the main barn for goodbyes and questions before you leave.
We hope you leave with an appreciation for the individual unique personalities and elegance of these conscious beings who willingly partner with you.
Rider weight limit of 200 pounds.
Not for beginners; you must have prior experience and have ridden in the last year.
Adults only.
